Belle Isle - Docent Led Tours of Aquarium and Conservatory Thursday, September 14 The Belle Isle Aquarium was designed by famed Detroit architect, Albert Kahn, and opened on August 18, 1904. It is the oldest aquarium in the country and has served the Detroit community as a beloved attraction for generations. The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory is the oldest continually-running conservatory in the United States. Join us as a docent-led tour of these historic gems of Detroit. If there is time, we will also visit the Belle Isle Nature Center. Please pack a snack or bag lunch and we will have a picnic on the island! $32 per person (Includes bus transportation and tour fees - Patron to bring own snack or lunch to eat on the island) Arrive for check in no later than 11:15 a.m. - Return to The War Memorial by 5:00 p.m.
