Mar 24, 2018 – 6:00 PM

More Info

“Africa Through the Eyes of a Visionaire” was birthed out of deep desire to capture some of the indescribable beauty and magnificent African experiences prior to the Transatlantic Slave Trade. There is a deep, rich history and heritage of Christianity in Ethiopia and the Nile Valley. This documentary follows Waka (from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) and Timashion Jones (From Detroit Michigan, USA) as they travel and explore museums and landmarks.  In addition, they explore church services  of Addis Ababa, the living quarters of the Queen of Sheba, The “Great Obelisk”, dwelling place for the Ark of the Covenant in Axum, the land of Adwa, the epic battle place where Ethiopia fought off Italian colonization, and the 11 Monolithic churches in Lalibela. The documentary also highlights footage of a trip to Egypt, which included The Great Pyramids of Giza, the Temple of Karnak, the Egyptian Museum and Queen       Hatshepsut’s Temple. This magnificent educational and inspirational event takes place on March 24, 2018 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History at 6 p.m. where we will have its red carpet premiere. This will include an art gallery, red carpet pictures of attendees wearing African attire, a screening of the movie, followed by a Q&A session with Timashion and Waka.  Instagram @timashiontv #ATTEOAV #Ethiopia #Africa #Detroit
